To Mr. Abramovich: Should You Sack Mourinho or Not? Hear Me Sir!
(I;m writing this at midnight and a bit sleepy... it's urgent because I can smell something hence the urgency. So ignore the little mistakes in there...Take the message)
Dear
Abramovich,
Since I have final exams to worry about, I will just go straight to the point and would like to write my buddy Roman Abramovich before it’s too late; As
a Chelsea fan who’s enjoyed your sack-and-save-team policy which may have
helped us win the Champions League when you fired André Villas-Boas (AVB), that
needed to happen and you were right in most of the sacking that you did except the 20
September 2007 decision, whether that was firing or parting ways on “mutual
consent,” Mr. Abramovich you had let go the best manager Chelsea has ever got, in fact the best manager in the
world (with Guardiola coming close)…
Since
then Chelsea has lived like a house full of kids whose dad left or was chased
away…until June 3rd, 2013 when you decided to be a man and swallow
your pride by bringing back the special thing Chelsea has ever got.
Jose
has won so much for Chelsea that he deserves to have a poor season even if it
means being relegated which I don’t think it will happen. Do remember that
Chelsea still remains in the Champions League, it’s a wild dream, but you may
want to crosscheck which teams has Mourinho won the Champions League with in
the past and last Chelsea won the Champions League was simply because that was
the only way to play in the competition the following season. And as I’ve
argued before, Mourinho
played a part in our winning of the Champions League …Who knows what may
happen with the Champions League this year!
My
point is this; if you end up giving in to the media pressure as well as other
fans who were found flirting with Mourinho when he finally left Chelsea in
2007, you want to be ready for the consequences. This time around there will
definitely not be a chance to ever rehiring Mourinho. Manchester United missed
the opportunity that scared many of us (Chelsea fans) when they nearly signed
Jose. We know what’s happening at United now, if they don’t fire Van Gaal, they
can ask Mourinho to wait for van Gaal’s eventual retirement poised for 2017…
Abramovich may I make this clear, you don’t want Mourinho to be our rival. He’s
so intelligent when it comes to this game called football. We have beaten great
teams such as Barcelona (more than once) not because we possessed great players
than Barca’s or Bayern (please refer to my other article where I
unapologetically credited Mourinho for our winning of the Champions
League….). We knocked out those great
teams because we have this gem called Mourinho who can outsmart his
counterparts. Chelsea is what it is today mostly because of you and Mourinho,
but I bet you won’t deny the fact that Mourinho knows Chelsea more than you do.
So it won’t ask too much out of him to be beating us in and out whenever he
chooses that is if he’s in the opponents’ dug out. We made a mistake letting
Peter Cech go to a rival team, so we cannot afford repeating that mistake, this
time around it will be even a greater catastrophic mistake that may take us
years to repair…
There
is Manchester City who appear not to be okay with their manager, there are
rumours that Real Madrid may still ask for Jose to go back…I bet PSG will get
on the phone as soon as they hear Mourinho is available. I will tell you that
most of my Arsenal friends who appear to be some of the great haters of
Mourinho were calling for Mourinho to replace Wenger when the guy was at
Madrid. I’m suspecting that some of these non-Chelsea fans calling for
Mourinho’s sack are simply jealous of the success that Jose still has ahead and
would like to jump at every opportunity to get him out of Stamford Bridge.
Okay,
you may ask, but why is this decline of form which is even start to threaten
slightly possibility of relegation? I wish I had the best answers, but allow me
to point out at some possible reasons.
It’s
Just that Time in a Team/Manager’s Life:
Mourinho
has enjoyed a lot of successes in the past decade and he deserves to lose and
have a bad season sometimes. The likes of Sir Alex Fergusson have been in this
situation before… Arsenal has kept Wenger even when almost everyone else except
the board wanted him out.
Jose
knows a lot of soccer, but he’s not been exposed to this part of the game, losing or bad season. It’s
an opportunity for him to learn…
Solution: Give him time… Mourinho himself needs to learn what it is to have bad season, Abramovich you need to give him that opportunity
Loss
of Player-leader Characters in the Dressing Room
Mourinho
created and/or nurtured great leaders such as Drogba, Lampard, Cech, Ashley
Cole, Bosingwa and now pretty much only left with Terry. Mourinho impact his
passion onto his players so he simply needs to make other next Drogbas, Lamps…
Solution: Give him time. We might
need to revisit the plus-thirty-one year deal. This is going to make us lose
our remaining leader John Terry in the same way we’ve lost the forenamed
players…
Fatigue and/or Complacency
It
is always difficult for a team that’s won the EPL for them to be able to defend
it successfully with as much passion. Sadly, this seemed to have happen with
the team. The other possible factor is
that most of Jose’s team have to give 100 percent. This is good and sometimes
may cause fatigue…
Solution: Buy few more big players to
reinvigorate upon his recommendation. We know that Mourinho knows how to bring
the missing piece of a football puzzle.
When
all is said and done, Mr. Abramovich you do have the best manager you will ever
have and this manager is going through the toughest time of his managerial
career and he still got it. It’s up to you to go for a quick fix and lose a
manager who’d have built a dynasty.
A
bird in the hand is worthy two in the bush especially this bird…
“We’re Chelsea diehards we’ve lived with the pain
We’ve tasted glory we can do it again
We’re going to be feared now at home and afar
The Pride of London is what we are”
We
will Keep the Blue Flag Fying High with the Special One!!! So Should you Mr. Abramovich!
