Shaking this man's hand was just a blessing in itself...

It was after he obtained Letters of Credentials from the University of Malawi that Reverend Dr Daniel Sheaffer was on his way to Club  Makokola and decided to make a stop at the Mangochi Faith Temple of the Assemblies of God, one of the hundreds of hundreds of the churches he planted.

He did not announce that he was coming to visit and it appears that the main reason of his visit was to come see the rebuilding of the church after the June Attacks that we suffered...

I happened to be at the church at the time and was with few of the members of the executive committee of our youth group having a casual meeting. We saw a car drive in and here came out a tall Caucasian guy who I struggled remembering where I possibly might have seen the guy. He walked to me as I stood there puzzled and introduced himself saying "I am Daniel Sheaffer the guy who built this church" It was not an arrogant voice but that of a man who was happy to come back to a place where he laid a stone for God's work. I was very relieved as my curiosity finally made sense.

He asked for the pastor, but unfortunately the pastor was not there and he exchanged few words with the pastor's wife in the limited Chichewa words he knew... He asked us to say hi to the pastor and was sorry that he could not stay long as he was rushing for a meeting at Club Makokola. Rumours say he was meeting with the State President, Dr Bakili Muluzi, to discuss the way forward after the June incidence.

As he drove away we were all left in awe of shaking hands with a guy whose work and ministry brought the Gospel to Malawi and has equipped many to spread the Gospel through the Assemblies of God School of Theology (AGST).

It was such a blessing to meet this man...
