Stay FIT my Friends!

So in our first ever game in 2009 with Amigos F.C. we went through a 'little hell' as many of our folks had not played in a longtime... We were not only losing 7-0 but we were losing players, we had at least 6 players who had had either pulled their hamstring or were having some sort of cramps... It wasn't only us players who were in agony, but also the fans who came to watch... I overheard one dear prayer-loving fan who either joked or was serious saying "I felt like we needed to (fast and) pray..." :-)
Not underplaying the importance of prayer, but one thing we needed that day was for our players to simply be fit, to have warmed up after having not played in months and some in years, and few in a decade or so... It's actually dangerous to go play without having not warmed up or exercised... Progressive exercise makes your sport life or simply life in general easier...
Paul testifies to that. He says physical exercise has some importance (1 Tim. 4:8)

"`For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
So anyways even Paul appreciates physical exercise as it enriches our physical fitness. But he goes on to ask us to practice spiritual exercise which is to benefit us not only just from this life, but the one to come ( 1 Tim. 4: 7(b)-8.)

"...train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."

I tell you if there is one annoying thing about being fit/healthy it's doing the exercise and going to the gym. But when you make it a habit you'll fit right in with members of small group of gym addicts... But none of them should tell you it was easier in the beginning to get into that rhythm...

It takes discipline, commitment and perseverance... Some mornings you just have to jump out of your bed and go even when you hate doing it... So folks, such is the case with spiritual exercise (godliness), it's never easy to make it a habit meditating upon the Word let alone reading it, taking an hour or half an hour of your 24 hrs in a day to pray isn't easy (hi it's just half an hour out of TWENTY FOUR)... But in order to stay fit spiritually we got to do that!

So today practice some godliness and stay fit my friends!
